Ya know I haven't really been a huge fan of the $uper bowel over the past few years, but I always watch most of it for nostalgia sake. Then today I read this article and I think this pretty much shut it down for me. I always knew they were money hungry but never this bad. I guess it all breaks down to a matter of can versus should. Can the NFL enforce their license protections which, yes, specify a screen less than 55"? Sure. Should they do so? Not if they value their customer base. Link to article.
Exerts from the article said:
...Initially, the league objected to the church's plan to charge a fee to attend and that the church used the license-protected words "Super Bowl" in its promotions....But the NFL objected to the church's plans to use a projector to show the game, saying the law limits it to one TV no bigger than 55 inches....

The older I get the less I like professional sports who would spend 200 bucks on football tickets when you can buy 50 lbs of live rock.

These NFL officials who are passing their judgement on this church should be worried. One of these days judgement is going to be passed on their money grubbing rears! :blob8: .....

have you ever been down here to port a? they used to have a church's, but it closed. that 30 mins, can be either driving to Corpus, or taking the ferry to Aransas Pass. there isnt much space for new fast food places. Aransas Pass has only had McD for 8 years now. we had a quizno's, but the owner is a moron and closed because summer was over and didnt think he could make money.

There are tons of good places to eat in Port A. I probally worked in about half of them growing up. Been a couple years since i been down there i didnt know they closed Churches. Is that Subway still there across from trout st. I used to like Tortuga Flats the old one where the parking lot for Vriginias is now. Another place that was good was the Quarter Deck but they are both gone now. We used to skip school and go have lunch at Castaways. Dont froget to hit the candy store over on Alister next to what used to be call the Fun Factory cant remember the new name.
