i can't access the general discussion section at all while at work because the web/proxy category is games and that is blocked. I know at work i should be working but during lunch or 1:36 on a Friday afternoon, it'd be nice to be able to look around. can that be changed or is it like that for a reason?

That is beyond our control from this end. Since I manage that for my company I can give you a bit more back ground if you want it 
, but the bottom line is that you'll need to ask your IT department to whitelist *.marsh-reef.org or submit it to their provider to be categorized.
There is nothing that I'm aware of in our configuration that would flag us for games so it is probably just flagged wrong by the security company.
