I caught a cool looking 5 inch dragon goby in my cast net last week. He has not eaten anything (not that I've witnessed) that I put in there. What do these guys eat? I don't know much about them, any help would be appreciated. If he doesn't eat soon, I'll take him back to Highland Bayou. Thanks!

it wasn't a "dragon goby" i can assure you. it's probably a large bottom dwelling goby or clingfish.

do you have a picture?

did it look like this:

It looks exactly like the picture here. I couldn't get it to eat, and it was getting picked on by my purple tang, so I gave it to JLORD. Jason said he's doing okay.

that one pictured is one i caught years ago and tried to keep. not a dragon goby, but i forget the name now and i never actually identified it.

it will eat mysis shrimp and stuff like that. it may sift the sand a little bit, but if it is, it is looking for microorganisms.

Gobies that I have had tend to survive no matter what. Even if I don't withness them eating.

I would probably keep him and assume he's feeding at night or when I am not looking.
