Hi i am new and still learning. Does anyone out there know what is the best RODI unit i can buy for a 150 gallon tank? a 5 stage? , 3 stage? or does it matter?

I am trying to do my own tank. I used to have a service come and clean out the tank...but now i like to do the water change myself and would like to invest in a good RODI unit...but there are so many on the websites and i'm a bit confused on what to use.

I just want to know if anyone out there using a RODI unit and highly recommends it. I'm tired of buying water. Please help me find an good RODI unit that you guys are using.

Thank you in advance!!

Try one of our sponsors Buckeye Field Supply. I've read some of their posts very knowledgeable. I am sure they will be able to put something together that will suit your needs.

I would go with the 5 stage if your budget allows it. The more stages the better and cleaner the water...I have a 100GPD output on my 4 stage...

The Best... hmmm, there are alot of good units out there. What makes one better than the other are a couple things, RO membrane, DI resin, carbon filter and sediment filter. Do your research because these filters can very significantly IMHO, Spectrapure makes the best RO membrane out there. I own a spectrapure unit and I use the highest rating filters for carbon and sediment. I am using a 90 gpd Spectrapure 4 stage RODI unit.

We really like the way you think!

We're going to have to differ with you here. For most people, a 4 stage unit is ideal - adding more filters doesn't really do anything necessary other than support poor starving vendors.

Now - if you have particular issues you're dealing with, more stage might be a good idea. Things like heavy sediment loads, chloramines, high TDS all might justifiably prompt you to add stages.

But as a default, go with 4. Best bang for your buck and ultrapure water.
