Where are the best places around Houston to purchase 3/8 and 1/2 acrylic sheets?

A place in Freeport (close to home) qouted $196 for 3/8 and $262 for 1/2.

Boebecker Plastics in Shiner qouted $117 for 3/8 and $154 for 1/2. But, it would have to be shipped or picked up in Shiner.

Surely some good places are here.

GE Polymers 866-437-7427, houston and dallas
3/8" 4X8 $142 5X8 $178
1/2" 4X8 $195 5X8 $243

Thanks for the link to regal-plastics.

I'm not certain if I'll be needing 4X8 or 5X8. I want to build a 48X24X24or20 100-120 gallon to place in the living room. It'll be my summer project. Plan on enclosing the wet bar (corner of living room and hallway). The aquarium will be in the living room but the back wall of it will actually be in the small room. Plan on building a sump/refugium combination out of 3/8 acrylic and the actual aquarium out of 1/2. The only thing I haven't decided on first is if the height will be 20 or 24.

The sump/refugium will be behind the aquarium in the small room. The will be perfect set-up because a drain and running water are present. Just need to purchase a RO/DI unit.

This will be my first saltwater venture. I've been wanting to do it for a couple of years. Recently been researching on the web.

Anybody in the local area who likes building acrylic aquariums as a hobby or part-time business? May need some help.

You may want to call regal plastics if they can do custom fabrication for you.

Why do you want a custom tank? It seems that the dimensions that you want is a standard size aquarium. If it's an acrylic aquarium you want, I think I've seen some at T&T Fish and Pets at Bellaire and Hwy 6.

I would love to tell people I built the tank and have pictures of the construction process. I know, kinda anal, but it would be interesting. I'm still kicking around purchasing an Oceanic glass in 120, but acrylic is appealing.

I would probably still talk to Reefalot to make sure you know what your getting into. He may be able to give you some pointers in working with acrylic. I know one of the issues is how to get the seams looking smooth and clear.

tunafish, thanks for informing me, but I really will want to install a 48" length because I'll be turning my wet bar into the a small room. The aquarium will be in this wall facing the living room and it has approx 50" of space to place an aquarium.
