ya but it does tell if the copper is low enough for a invertebrate to survive and a small snail cant take much so if it lives the copper should be completely gone in a month
The API copper test is good enough to detect fairly low levels of copper in your water. The SeaChem copper test is more sensitive but it's an absolute pain to use.
You can always get a pack or two of Poly-Filter media and put it in the bubble trap of your sump for 3-4 days. It will pull out any/all medications, metals etc present in the water and will change color to represent what it pulled out. I almost always have a pack of this on hand if needed.
You can also put filter sock full of Cuprisorb in your carbon reactor (if equipped) or in a high flow area for a few days. This will pull out any copper left in your system.

ok i will most likely use a icp test in the end since its a one time use that's why im looking for a service to get an exact amount but not spend the 60 dollars on a testing kit
and although snails would be preferred in my book i most likely wont do it since i dont like to watch snails die. i have a acp testing kit but it constantly shows n copper in the old tank ere there was copper so i dont trust the strips or drops anymore for copper testing
