Thanks. It was a lot of fun. Not a lot of big hits considering the water was still cool though. I love when they just slam your hook and sink the bobber. A lot of nibbling today, and when the wind is keeping slack in your line, it makes it more difficult to dance that dance.Nice haul

Typically, we throw the cast net for fresh shad. Today, we used worms. A friend of ours was in his boat using fresh shad and had about the same results. The three of us hit about ten each.Oh ya! What bait did y’all use?

This spring was the worst I’ve ever had for bass fishing. My parents neighborhood on lake Conroe has a few very large, well stocked bass. I never leave without catching a half dozen or so, but I was lucky to get one or two this season. I even tried a couple weeks ago to work topwater in the evening but didn’t catch a thing. Very strange.@Cody do you do any other fishing?
I am just getting back into bass fishing. Been trying to go kayak in the mornings at the local creek. Haven't ventured too far out of the area. I've caught a lot of 1-2lbers, nothing to write home about, but catching something is always fun.
Everyone says I need to go down to the marshes near Galveston for Redfish & Speckled Trout. Haven't yet, but will soon once my schedule lines up with a buddys (and the weather is right).
The part of the dam that I circled typically does well for catfish. Just move up and down the rocks in the early morning. Use a bobber and fish about 3” feet deep. Cast as close to the rocks as you can get without getting hung. Also, the same method usually works well on diamond head (the top circled part). The problem with diamond head is that there’s typically a lot of boat traffic around that part so you need to be there at sunrise to avoid all that.Pin drop? Lol
What were you using topwater? I haven't had any luck topwater out here. This spring was the worst I’ve ever had for bass fishing. The last few years we’ve been killing bass on pop R’s late in the evening, right as the sun is going down. It just depends on the water temperature though. I think it’s too hot already for those. What were you using topwater? I haven't had any luck topwater out here.
Dude, why did you keep them?! Bass are for sport! Haha
