The electronic solenoid valve to shut-off the feed water going to my R/O unit fried I had to take out the auto shut-off valve and replace it with a pressure switch when I installed the booster pump per instructions. My question is, can I bypass the solenoid valve, until I find a replacement...
Cinnamon Clown finally decided to dock with the RBTA :P I have a pesky yellow damsel terrorizing my clown, but today the clown held his ground and claimed the anemone.

I was doing a water change, and let my water drop to low in the return side of my sump. Sump gunk got sucked into my return pump and blew it in my main tank. The next day I got this nasty brown stringy stuff growing everywhere, trying to smother my corals. I did a 25% water change and still...
Is there a safe way to remove a clam from liverock. I think its a T. crocea. My RBTA decided to stay on the same liverock my clam is on, and its starting to spread towards the clam. I tried to wiggle it off, but its on there pretty good. Anyone successfully remove one, without damage?

My 1st attempt was not successful, so I turned the scraper longways and works like a charm. I got some heavy duty velcro at walmart to fasten the blade holder. The velcro was the same size as the floats, so it worked out great. I don't have by replacement pads anymore :D
Trying to decide between Reef Geek's 4x54 watts powered by an Icecap 660 (overdirven) or their standard 4x54 watts standard driven retro kit for actinic supplementation. Currently running 2x150 watt 10k HQI PFO pendants and 4x110 watt VHO super actinic R's on a 4Lx24Hx30D Tank. Mostly SPS and...
I picked this up from City Pets over the weekend, and the person I was dealing with did not know what it was. Kinda looks like an LPS, and glows flourescent green.
My 1st DIY CA reactor. This is a cross between the Geo reactor and the PM reactor. I decided on a reverse flow for better CO2 scavenging, and the unit will be managed via PH controller. I'm just waiting on my pump (panworld) and in-line probe holder to complete the plumbing. Still working on...
I cleaned my tank over the weekend, and scrubbed off all the cyanobacteria present on the rocks and walls. All my fish and corals were fine before this event and a few hours later I found a clown on the bottom, dead. Then, my yellow tang was gasping for air, as well as the other clown. This...
Just got back from our trip. Here are some pics of the Cozumel underwater scenery, taken 40-110 feet below the surface inside a mini-submarine. The sub took us all the way to the edge of the reef, where it met the ledge, a 3500 foot drop into the abyss :o .
