    After reading other posts, I think I may have Bryopsis instead of hair algae. What treatments would be best? Don't they both lock up all the silicates and phosphates giving the impression that things are clean, but will release toxins as they die?

    Thanks, Team Turtle! I manually remove the algae as often as possible. Lots of live rock for it to stick to. Were my snails slowly dying and just unable to come back from the loss of other algae?
