I have gone to Don quite a few times now, and his frag tank is better than any I have seen. He is kind enough to open up his tank and stand to discuss filtration and all other aspects of the systems. Just ask! My corals are doing great from him too! Awesome Acro frags and clams! Will always...
I am confusing myself by reading about this, why can you put Mag Drive pumps in your sump when they have metal screws exposed? Wouldnt these rust over time and kill off your inverts?
how do you catch a clownfish that has leapt into the overflow?
I have tried a net, but it is a center overflow on the tank and it also has a durso standpipe, so it is full of water
can you do a closed loop on your tank without drilling? ie how do you get the water to the pump intake? can someone show me a pic of what I should use? I have all the return plumbing ready, just not the water uptake figured out.
I want to put a hang-on skimmer on my tank. I need to cut the top lip of the tank to make it fit on there correctly. Can I simply take a hacksaw to the lip where I need to cut it in order to have the skimmer sit on the tank the right way?
could I put a nice blue clam [T crocea or T maxima] under 4 54 W t 5's with ind. refl.?
should it be up on the rock or down in sand?
tank is 80 gal [a tall 75 gal]
Can someone please explain to me in lamens terms, the diff. between actinic 03's and the stuff like "spectrum peaks at 420 nanometers or 450 nm" what is best for corals?
I have always wondered about pH controllers. How do they work? How does a machine have the ability to increase or decrease the pH of water? Any and all info would be great!
Is 6 hours of halide light enough for corals to grow thrive and be happy in a tank? I am only thinking of the heat issues that are associated with the bulbs.
