i am dosing alk/cal with my A&K elements and chateogro. would that be sufficient if i switched to the regular instant ocean? or would i still be missing something the salt was providing?
im considering switching from tropic marin pro to possibly instant ocean (the original not reef crystals). my tank is a mixed reef and im trying to maintain around 10dkh. any other salts out there yall suggest that's around 10dkh.
Is there anything special im missing? The way i see it i can get a great stand alone 3 or 4 head doser for the same price? I do have an apex and i love it but i cant see why i should buy the DOS over a stand alone unit. Any thoughts?
Sorry about the delay ive been working alot this past week. Yes i do have quite a bit of coralline algae and its getting thicker(best way i can describe it) and spreading. As far as test kit im using a hannah checker. I got the tank to 9.5 dkh and im in the process of letting it sit for 5 days...
I increased it tonight, ive got it going the right direction. I just really want to get it 9 dkh so i can move on and find my daily consumption and start auto dosing instead of by hand.
Ok its been over 2 weeks and im still not at my goal of 9dkh dosing 60ml of cal/alk i should of been there in a week. So my tank is using it but i only have a few frags. Can coralline algae really be using that much cal/alk? Its going somewhere and thats all i can come up with? Heres my alk...
ya reef crystals was definitely higher, I'm mixing up a 100 gallons at time so I do pour it relatively fast. Honestly with a mixing station TMP is awesome it dissolves so fast and clean I don't have to worry about cleaning my container. time is important to me and there's no risk of...
Uhh ya i dosed it all at once in a high flow area, calcium first then alk. Making sure it doesnt precipitate out or cloud up. Its a 210 gallon tank i didnt think 60 ml was a "large" dose. I checked alk before dosing and it went from 5.9 to 6.2 in 24hrs. Is this to fast? Also im gonna be honest...
Alright i just dosed about 2 oz of cal/alk ill do that for the next week and that shoukd put me around 9 dkh (according to BRS calculator im using soda ash mixed with rodi water). From there ill let it sit for 5 days and get back with yall then. Scuba what are using to adjust your TPM ALK im...
So should i find a salt around a 9 dkh or just dose till i hit 9 dkh and see how much it drops a day? Then add calc/alk to tropic marin before i do a W/C?
