Thanks, have wanted one ever since I saw a picture of it in Marks (BAD LSI) tank. I actually did get this guy locally over at Global leader Aquatics. I got my tiger tail cucumber and tube anemone there as well- he has some of the slightly more unusual stuff in his small tanks on the right side. It is way out of my way so have only been a couple of times but he runs a really, crazy pristine, clean system and has interesting stuff. All fish are immediately treated with antibitotics, etcetera, good setup. Got a cool red marbled star too, little bitty not much larger than a large asterina. Scared me at first, he didn't move for over a week, 4 days in I flipped him to check and he flipped back over, so I knew he was alive but took a while to get comfortable.

Been asked for pics from some people so thought I would do a thread ressurection. Interesting to see the changes over time. Been a while and had several hiccups but still going strong. Biggest issue was a random, I'm guessing bacteria, that hit the tank right before last years tank tour and slowly took out all my blasto colonies, it then hit my acans and some scolys. Never figured out exactly what it was, but my lps would start to close and then get a white slime and then dissolve. Not terribly fast so I did lots of fragging and did save some acans but still lost more than I want to think about.
It has been more than 4 months since I lost a piece and have started to rebuild, also put in a UV a few months back and figure it is finally behind me.
I've always loved wrasses and while my eyes always bugged out at fish over $50 :turboink::der:, I got over it :thumb::loveit: Additions within the past 6-7 months include a chevron and fowleri tang, male flame wrasse and three female harem, exquisite wrasse, lineatus super male and schoal of 6 anthias. Roughly 35 fish right now.

:gotpics:

so here you go- from left to right full tank shot. My elegance has taken over the "centerpiece" area and loving it's new rock.

Yep I got my marble star like yours at Global Leader also. He has them quite regularly. I see this is an older post Jeff. How's your star doing? Mine lasted a couple months and slowly died.

Thanks Ben and I'm always in for food, guess that explains my runners physique...

Bad timing to bring back that post I guess, it was fine for about a year and then a few weeks ago I noticed it was missing a couple of legs and then all of them and was gone. Don't know if someone started picking on it or what. May wait a while before I attempt to replace.

Here's a quick video of the tank

Anyone know how to embed video? I tried pasting the link and it didn't work

Just take the video link and wrap (minus the spaces) around it:

Dang! 35 Fish!

Tank looks great Jeff. Lots of cool stuff, both coral AND fish.

So can you describe your feeding and give us an idea of how much food goes in the tank at one time?

I actually don't feed a lot at any one sitting to try and keep nitrates under control, I just feed several times a day. I have an auto feeder that feeds nls pellets and cyclop flakes 3x a day small amounts. Half a nori sheet every other day or so and every night I do some variation of frozen food. Either a combo of mysis, daphnia, cyclops, mega marine algae, spirulina with brine or a homemade mix that has a ton of different stuff-shrimp, squid, oysters, clams, fish, selcon, reef chili, crab, all blended together and frozen into sheets. Do my best to keep the portions smaller and do it in several sessions, including at night.
I spend half my time sitting in front of the tank anyway so easy to grab them a snack.
Here's my insane fowleri tang, "bubbles" who likes to bob and blow bubbles out of the water to knock any pellets that might be floating, whether they are there or not!

That flame is gorgeous!
Thanks Cat, yea I believe he is my favorite fish, close second is the lineatus. When they start flashing it's just awesome

Looking great Jeff!
yep, lights are holding up well, still need to get that programming tweak, but I owe you latest version

man, awesome set-up. what do you hold your chemical parameters at?

Appreciate it, I run fairly standard parameters. Alk 8-9, salinity 1.026, calcium 440, mag 1400 range. I dose with kalk in my ato and right now not needing anything else. Kalk is still keeping up even with 4 clams and a lot corals.
