Here are a few words from Kevin on the TOTY-2008 honor:

First of all, let me thank everyone who took time to participate in the TOTY voting. I especially want to thank those who voted for me!!! It is quite a feeling to get a compliment such as this from the MARSH community. As stated in my TOTM post my aquarium is a constant work in progress. The last few months have had several changes. The upgrade to 250w MH made a noticable improvement overall to my tank. The sps mortality in my tank is much better as well as the coloration. The guts of my tank have been...well...gutted. The original sump and small HOB powerfilter turned refugium have been removed. A custom sump from Sapphire aquatics now provides a full size refugium for my tank. It also holds two filter socks that my return and skimmer dump into. You would think after running through a large refugium and skimmer my water would be pristine. Yet the sock from the skimmer return still has to be replaced every two weeks. The 55g I was going to set up is not going to happen. The tanks I have take up enough of my time as it is. I do however still have an overcrowding problem. Made worse by the splitting of both my RBTA's. I now have 4 dominating the left side of my tank. The overcrowding will have to be remedied by future post in the B/S/T forum! Luckily my tank survived Ike. I was without power for ten days, but had purchased a generator the year before. My home was not as lucky. So between home repairs and the holidays nothing aside from sparse maintenance has been done the past couple of months. The new year and this TOTY award has renewed my passion for my tank and I cant wait to start tinkering again. Thank you again MARSH members.

No acropora at the time of that pic. Several small colonies have now weeded their way into my tank and are doing great.

Ahhh... the tank that beat me out.

Although I did not win like I wanted to it was a great honor to say that I fell behind such an amazing tank. Honestly if I didn't vote for my own tank this would have taken my vote as well!
