The issue could be an over-sized return pump. You can put a gate valve on the return line and throttle it down till your drain matches the return.

I'm not sure about cyano. But I used it when I had a diatom outbreak after cycling the tank and was gone and clear in 5 days. Awesome stuff.

I had a horrible case of Cyano , bad bad !!
I reduced my feeding and kept a schedule..

I used coral snow combined with a zeo product (Cyano-clean) everyday for about 8 weeks... It cleared up and now I dose the Cyano clean once a week as maintenance...

I also syphoned out all I could reach every weekend to held...

Also try a few conch's I picked up a few for my tanks and the dive right into the sand and eat it I love them. I picked them up at global leader for about 9$ each.

Ill have to go back and look at what I just used. Someone told me to use it (some chemical but i was on my last nerve with the same stuff you dealing with) and within a week im cleared up. I am getting some brown algae on the glass and some brown hair algae growing on the rocks but it looks like Im finally past it. The stuff drove my skimmer nuts, so much so I had to turn it off for about a week while i did about 3 15% water changes (pulling all the algae out) before I could run it again.

Freaking cyano is driving me crazy ,anyone have any good experience with coral snow ?

Keep up with water changes. It will go way. Tank is pretty new so it takes a little time.

How's the injury/Can you move?
