Had this happen twice with different brands, freaks you out for a while. Try recalibrating, city pets has the individual solution. If not time for a new probe.

Yeah, mine starts to drift after a bit -- though not that wildly. Sure does get one excited, though, eh?

Hey Ben just get a new tank (bigger ofcourse) and fill it up with water, live rock, lots of coral and then check the PH in that one......just to make sure.

Just got home and started to do a WC. I noticed a 9 in the corner of my left eye............when I took the vision straight it was a 9.2 on my PH reader OMG!!
Started to do a manual test and it told me 8.18 and an other one.......8.22...........once again 8.19............What's going on with my American Marine PH Pinpoint?
Yes, the probe is only 6 months and Yes I clean it every 3 months and Yes I did a 7.00 and 10.0 calibration on it before use.
I guess will test the calibration on it after I found my solution bags.

You did everything right...AM is a piece of crap. I bought acouple of different instruments and all were worthless. A controller is a better option but you can also rely on Milwaukee brand PH monitor or controller Which is very reliable in my opinion.
