Nice work on the first pic.

Everything is in focus... fish, substrate, rock, and anenome (that is an anenome eh?). Also cool how the light is hitting the jawfish's fin just right to show it's translucence.

share more :)

~~edit: hahahahah... I just noticed the pearl jawfish's mouth in the background of the second pic. It looks like he's in shock (were you wearing ALL of your clothes while taking these photos?) :-o

Those are incredible pictures....what kind of camera do you have? Granted a big portion of the success is due to the photographer...

Ok...Here's a few shots...The nano shots are pretty accurate for what it looks like now. The other tanks have changed a bit, for example I finished the canopy for the 40g so it matches the 75g now. Other than that this is pretty much what it looks like.

Olympus c-5050 zoom.
It's been a great camera for learning on.
And I'm just starting to get to where I'm using quite a bit of the functions.
Another year or so and I might actually be able to use nearly all of them. :)

Great pics B! Is that a blue and white damsel in your tank? Is it aggressive like other damsels...so purty!

Yep it's a blue velvet damsel. Yep it's agressive. This is my second one. I only bought this one hoping it would take care of my flatworms. It never seemed to touch them much though. It and the sixline wrasse are goners as soon as I borrow a trap and can catch them back out of the tank.

Yep....I've had two versions of them now. The one that looks like an old fashioned feather quill for writing, and the bushy one that looks similar to an alveopora or goniopora or something. I really liked the orange one, but one of my rainbow urchin decided it was tasty.

Incysor,

Great pictures. I love how clear and sharp the subjects are as if there's no glass at all. Are any of these pictures photo edited or that's how the camera sees it?

What do you mean by edited? Nearly all digital images go through a post production...Same as with print photography.

All of my pics go through a couple batch processes. First batch is Color balancing, reduction, sharpening. Second batch is reduction and sharpening. The two batches are compared, because the color balancing isn't always accurate, and the most accurate pics are the ones that get kept/posted.

I think that was exactly what he was asking. Some people go through and do color balance and post processing. Others just post the picture the way it comes out of their camera(as I do).

Incysor,

The reason I asked the question was try to determine whether the clear sharp picture was due to the camera or due to the editing software. If it was unedited, then that's a truly awesome camera and I would probably get one like yours. I was told that if you are going to use software editing than any average camera will do but if you dont' have time to post edit with software than spend the extra money and buy a higher end camera where the colors and sharpness are already there. In any case, those are very nice pictures.

I don't know who told you this....but to a great extent it's nonsense. Photo editing software can do some amazing things, but it won't fix a crummy pic. I've met folks that are true photoshop gurus that can do some amazing things, but if the image isn't fairly good to start with then they don't have anything to work with. I'm a total beginner with image software, but with some of the shots it can make a difference.

Most of the mid level cameras will do a good job for most applications as long as you have some control over the settings mentioned earlier. Across the different name brands there doesn't seem to be much of a difference in lense quality etc...Until you get into the high-end dSLRs.

B,

What software are you using for processing?
