I recently bought a used 90 gallon acrylic tank which has a few scratches. I was wondering what is the very best way to remove the scratches? What products should I use? Is a sander or hand sanding better? Any pointers? Or should I just seek professional help?

Is there a kit that I can use with a sander? I plan to do the whole outside and inside of tank because of all the scratches most of the scratches are very small. Its a total area of 34 square feet that needs to sanded and repaired. Thanks

Ok thanks! Now when I start to sand should I do small areas at a time or can I do a whole side that im sanding at the same time? Example can I sand 4'x2' all at the same time?

It would be better (not sure about easiest...) if you do one entire surface at the same grit at one time. That will give the most even result.

I use the novus and some sanding. It depends on how deep the scratches are. You don't have to sand the whole thing down. I did my 260g and helped josh with his 750g this past weekend.

I picked up some novus 1 & 2 today but didnt have luck finding #3 I guess I will need to get it online.

Im starting to think im in over my head on this project because I tried using the novus on a spare piece of acrylic and it didnt come out very good. im hoping its because I didnt have novus #3.

Novus 2 is the what you need to use for fine scratches, 3 for the deeper one. If your trying to do it only by hand and not with a buffing wheel on something like a drill, all your going to do is get frustrated and waste alot of time.
