Does anyone local to Houston sell these things? I hear they do some major damage to Algae but all I ever see are regular turbos. Or at least they are not labeled as mexican.
I put a sea hare in my tank 6 days ago and he's already dead. Neither my pencil urchin or long spine urchin seem to do much of anything.
My water tests out fine. 0 nitrate 0 phosphate 0 ammonia, 0 copper, 0 tds in my ro/di water, ph around 8.0, fish are ok, calc and alk a little low but working on it. I've had hair algae for months and now its getting covered by brown dinos. Tank is a year old. I even resorted to dosing vodka about 2 weeks ago, maybe that's where the dinos came from. I can't wait to get my new tank going so I can just start all over. :p

I had red turf algae spreading in my tank. Bought a half dozen turbos two weeks ago and the algae is all but gone. My only beef about the turbos is that they are like rhino's in a china shop. They are wrecking shop all over my aquascape (probably need to get a little epoxy). I bought them as "mexican" turbos at aquarium world because it was the only place I could find them locally. Whether mexican or not, they did a number on the algae.

I only need to keep three of them so if you want three, PM me.

I got a few turbos from Aquarium World last week but I didn't notice the tank specifying that they were mexican. But they were the only ones they had. Either way, they don't seem to be doing much.

That's weird. Mine have flat out destroyed the algae in my tank (75G). One of the stupid things fell off a rock and landed upside down so he's toast now. But I'm probably going to have to supplement feed the rest.

it's hit or miss with them, i had a few myself and they cleaned up a little but not all, mostly knocked stuff over. not good in a new tank with frag plugs unless everything is glued down.
