The more we know about your tank, the better we can help. What size tank do you have, sump, filtering system, live rock, livesand, waterflow, temp, ph, saltlevel, livestock, etc..?

Is this the 11 gallon tank that you said was 2.5 months old that you had the carpet anemone in or is this another tank? Please tell us what size the tank is etc etc so we can further evaluate the situation.

its an 11 gallon tank with 2 18 watt power compacts about 2olbs of live rock and a bag of live sand. I think my tank just isnt done cycling.... what do you think?

Either that bag of LS was a bag of ammonia filled LS or you have something rotting in there. No fish I hope. I would seriously think about doing a 50% water change followed up by a 20% later this week. That is pretty high for a tank that has been set up that long.

Did you take the carpet back to the store? I would say do a few water changes also.

ya i took the carpet back to the store and got store credit.... to some yelling but they took it back. fish guy tried to tell me that in a tank that small my lighting was more than enough :-x. As far as water changes go, i did a 5 gallon water change last monday and then a 2 gallon on friday.. and it didnt help. And all my critters (snails hermit crab and one starfish are presant and accounted for) so there is no rotting. should i get new sand?

Nah, it's just the cycle going through it's progress, do a few more water changes and wait it out.

I was just asking, because my Salifert ammonia test always looks like either 0 or .25, depending on the light in the room, and even the angle you view it at.

ya i figured that might be the problem, so i took it to the lfs and had them test it, and even there it tested at .25
