Green star polyps is the coral you couldn't remember.

Flowerpots like light to medium flow, probably why yours is happier on the sandbed. I really don't understand why some online places say they like high flow...

dude, tank looking good. another addition for corals, maybe some Zoas. Dennis usually has an awesome selection. maybe a nem for the clowns. as for a fish, maybe a yellow wrasse. really do some research on your fish. make sure that its something you really want and will actually work with your tank. you dont want to end up like some of us who had to take almost everything out just to take out a nuisance tomato clown.....

I can't speak highly enough about Dennis and FJW. The guy is the most help, gives great advice and is willing to take the time to educate you. He's been my primary source for everything, though I have supplemented with things from CP and another LFS that's not a sponsor here but I've been doing business with those guys for years for freshwater stuff so have a relationship with them as well. But no one is as helpful or has the quality and quantity in this part of town that Dennis does.

Yeah I've heard about the fish nightmares, thats why I'm always asking questions here - even though a lot of them are stupid LOL. Blenny's and a cleaner wrasse are on my short list ;)

Check out Gabe_j with BAMF Aquatics and Tony with Heads and Tails both have super deals on corals that you can't let go. Yes and Dennis is the to go to guy as it comes down to LFS.

Hey, I'm going to see Gabe and Jason this weekend don't know a time yet but if you drive half way I'll pick you up and drive together south. No pressure, you can just look and see Jason's (ostentum) super rare corals.
Can meet up at beltway 8 and I-10.

Thanks Diesel, but I don't think this weekend will work out for me. Got too much going on. I don't really mind the drive, it's just a time thing. Once I'm not as busy and have some more free time I'll probably make it around to all the sponsors :)

so you live close to david (reeftopia). his set-up is ridiculous. when you get a chance, go check his out and take some moula. he might frag you some stuff for a good price. then check out mike (rockin reef). i bought a cluster of zoas from him for a great price. they are doing great!!!!!

all this when you are ready for SPS. and remember, for good safe measures, dip!!!!! Lugols. Its not that i dont trust people, but i heard its good to do it anyways. read the instructions and you will notice that even with the cleanest of tanks, you might come across some stuff. i had some zoas looking a little whack and decided to dip them. they are looking awesome and getting huge.

And some new additions courtesy of Dennis at FJW. I'm sure many of you will be mad that I bought the big duncan stem from his nice display. Man it sure is a pretty one. You can also see my new Blenny sunbathing.

I'm trying to go slow but it's hard :)

Wrasse, Yellow blenny, 2 purple firefish, 2 regular firefish, 2 True Onyx clowns.

I'm buying that purple tang from Dennis if he can ever get it out of the display :) That'll be the last one probably for awhile (till I have enough copepopods to support a Blue Mandarin). Also ordered some purple candelabra and a couple really colorful polyps from an online dealer. We'll see how that goes. Done freshwater stuff online for rare things and had good luck in the past.

I know what you mean.

Becareful with some of your coral choices though. The flower pot will vanish in less than 6 months, the plate coral is also not that easy to keep in a new tank regardless of what some say in my opinion.

Overall, the tank looks great.

Yeah I know the flower pot, torch and daisy are all really hard to keep. We'll see on the plate. I figure things will come and go, I don't like killing things but I know it will happen. Torch is actually already doing bad but hanging in there. Water params are all spot on so probably just doing have the right bio yet.

Latest update with my latest addition of the purple tang Dennis was able to cage up for me. Of course I couldn't leave without buying a couple other nice frags. Now I've got some zoa's, a candelabra and a couple cool richordia coming with my pods so I'll get the pods in and let them go for a couple months to breed and settle in, then it should be time for my clam and Mandarin! Other then that I think I'm going to let this baby grow now.

Now, to plan the tank upgrade....should I go 4x3x2 or 6x2x2? :)

I don't think I'll ever be an SPS only kinda guy. I really like softies and LPS too much. I like the color and movement, but I will undoubtedly have a couple SPS at things progress.

What I really want to do is have a FOWLR and a Reef tank, both about 200 gal. Just have a slight space issue and 4 aquariums already. Might try and talk the wife into selling off the 200 gal freshwater livestock and making that a FOWLR down the road  Really want some lions, puffers, powder blues and angels (and all the other stuff you can't put in a reefer).
