Half of the tentacles on one of my anemones got into the mp40. Do they recover from this?

Some do some don't...I try to keep the water quality high and would watch it real close and if it starts to disintegrate, get it out so it doesn't kill other inhabitants. May help to add some extra carbon to absorb some of the junk that is probably in the water.

If you search on this board tektite did a DIY vortech screen to keep fish and inverts from being pulled into the pump.

Would it be helpful to feed it? I feed all my anemones.

Its going to be one of those deals were you need to watch it. If it starts inflating after a couple of days you could try feeding it.

Was the pedal or oral disc damaged in any way? If yes then I would probably wait for a few days. When they are cut for propagation they are usually left alone for a week or so to let them start healing (although that is when they are cut in half) .

I need to check when I get home. My wife was the one who saved it (thank God). Cool picture by the way.

I had one that got chopped into like 6 pieces. Ended up with about 6 anemones from that. Gave them all away once they healed and grew a bit.

Good luck with it!

Same here. I've had them look worse and survive. In fact, I had one that lost nearly all of his tentacles. I had to cut him out with a knife he was in there so good. And he lived.

Yeah, I just got home and it looks even better. The tentacles are just more stubby now. It would be nice if humans could heal like that!
