This morning I wandered past my tank and thought something is not right... everything looked fine except... what's that in my k1400?

Last week my other GBTA floated into my powerhead chopping itself the bits (fortunately I was able to gather all remains and avoid a massive water change)

Apparently my second GBTA could not stand to live in this world and attempted the same as it's brother... right now it is in intensive care until it makes a full recovery or dies (more likely the latter to occur).

How many of you all have lost one of these STUPID animals? Any funny, and or recovery stories to give me hope? I am bummed and think this may lift my spirits.

I gotta tell you tho everything I've read has stopped me from getting an anemone so far as much as I want a bubble tipped one :( I just would hate the said scenario.

i just lost my anemone 1-2 weeks ago. I guess it was a blessing in disguise. No more for me. Too much trouble.

My vortech made short work of mines. When i pulled what was left, it was just a nub. A nice milky tank full of anemone soup as well.... A few huge water changes later all is well.

p.s. I love the sig Llama. lol. crack rocks don't sell themselves. I can totally see someone else thinking reefers are drug dealers. I just bought some corals off a buddy at a gas station. To someone that didn't know it might have looked like a drug deal

LOL! I've commented more that a few times to guys that I'm buying frags from about the same thing. They have several strange people coming to their house over the period of a few days, and leaving with small bags of stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if their neighbors wondered what was up!

Back on topic, too bad about your nem r_jay. I need to cross my fingers on my two, they've been pretty stable except for when it first split.

It wasn't a good week for my tank, my water tested good but my clam died friday morning, thursday night happy as a ... you know what... then friday morn kaput. wierd, i think bristleworms were involved... glad I have found good deals on all my livestock though so I haven't resorted to selling rock to recoup my losses, but I do enjoy making "transactions" in local parking lots.

i've never had a clam just die on me over night. You sure it didn't have PM or was gaping?

I've had 2 maxima clams for the past year with no problems. Fully extended mantles and no gaping. i just picked up a new clam and within a few hours my 2 maximas displayed PM. I think im going to have to dip the 3 clams.

I haven't changed anything else, but the clams are clearly agitated. I shoulda known better than to put the new clam in without dipping.

well I was looking at the clam the night before and he looked perfect, beautiful! the next morning I noticed he wasn't attached to the rock anymore and was closed up tight, upon closer inspection I noticed where he used to be attached was a big chunk of flesh still attached to the rock. I think something pushed him off his perch ripping his insides out in the process... turbo snail?

Mine is being tempramental right now. We'll see what happens.
I do have several power heads for them to find though.
