I am wanting to add a shoal of anthias to my tank and came across the Bimaculatus Anthias, also called the twin-spot or two-spot Anthias. I don't mind buying fish online if I have seen them in person before, but I have never seen one of these. I was wondering if anyone has some or has ever seen them.

I currently have some Maldives Lyretail Anthias. If you have seen the two-spot, how would you compare the two?

Thanks for any help. Here is a picture of them from Liveaquaria.

Check with Jasonc I believe he was mentioning getting these the other day. Haven't seen them in person but look great in pics. You might check with sponsors (FJW, 3CC, etc) to see if they can beat/match LA pricing.

I've got a trio. Absolutely beautiful fish! They are hardy, disease resistant and easy to get converted on to aquarium foods (flake, frozen etc). Really great fish that I highly recommend if you are willing to shell out the bucks for them. The downside (besides the price): They eat like maniacs. If you have any slower eating fish in the tank they will get out competed. Another possible downside is the size. They are some of the larger anthias and can reach 5" in size.

Once you see these guys in person there really aren't to many other anthias that can compete with them looks wise. They are that pretty.

Edit: All these fish came from Live Aquaria and ate the day they came out of the bag. Can't loose with LA.

Those are very nice. Thanks for the "real life" pics. The images you find online are always so hit and miss. All of my fish are pretty active eaters and I am trying to stay away from shy fish like you said. I think they would fit right in based on your comments. Thanks!
