So I picked up a 48" dual metal halide with quad t5 and moonlights. Paid $75 but the moonlights and one side of the t5s do not work. I am hoping someone here has experience with electrical work and fixing lights as i would like to see what the problem is with these. Hopefully it's just a loose wire or something. Please let me know if you would be able to help me out. Thanks!

did you try switching the t-5 bulbs between the two sides to confirm that its not just a bulb (s) that is/are burned out?

If it does end up being one side have been able to check to see if both bulbs for that side are tied to the same ballast, or is the inner bulbs tied to one ballast and the two outer bulbs tied to another?

Who is the manufacturer?

Switch bulbs and still doesn't work so may be ballast or switch. They have seperate ballast I think. The moonlight switch won't click and light up so something might be wrong with the switch. No idea about manufacturer.

Are there separate cords for each light i.e. 1 for MH, 1 or 2 for T5 and 1 for LED? If there are separate cords do they have some type of rectangular brick sitting between the wall plugin and the light fixture itself?

Take some pictures and post them.

I can help you with it but will not be available until after Wed. I'm in Spring, not sure what part of town your in.

Im in katy. Each halide has a electronic ballast with its own switch. Each dual t5 has its own plug and switch. The moonlights have their own plug and switch. I will take pics tomorrow

Yep, sounds like the ballast for the T5's but it could also be the wiring and/or connectors. It is unlikely that the LED's themselves are bad. I am betting on something in the connections are bad. Will be interested in seeing the pics.
