Just a warning about caustic soda: it's a very strong base (way more than kalk) and can burn you badly if you let it spill on your skin.. esp. the 30% sln. Better to use a glove while handle that stuff.. I wouldn't surprise that stuff would kill any of your corals/fishes if you accendentally spray it on them.

I have always been sucessful w/ concentrated kalk sln to kill aips.. I mix about ~ half a spoon into 10 ml of water and use a syringe to shoot the kalk directly at the aips.. and it always works for me.. for small rocks, you may just take the rocks out of water and inject right at the hole where the aips at.

Thanks for the warning Quoc. I'm going to cut it with RO water so it's not so strong.

I knewif I called it an acid it would actually be a base.

Mithrax crab maybe?

I have had 3 aptasia's in my tank, they appeared after my first mithrax crab died.

I Added another mithrax 3 days ago, and now all three look like they've been plucked apart. They're all missing tentacles and all three stay close to the rock, much more cautious than they were. All of them are still alive for the moment, but I doubt they will survive long.

I've not seen any other reports of mithrax eating Aptasia, so it was quite a surprise to me. Perhaps I can train this guy and loan him out as an aptasia hunter...
