I was told that you can over drive this skimmer with a Mag 9.5 instead of the recommended Mag7. The only problem I'm having is keeping the water level down especially once I introduce the air. Any recommendations as to a fix.

I use to run one with a ball valve in line with no problems. It ran nearly wide open, and just adjust the air, then your set.

I think I read when doing research yesterday that you should put a ball valve between the pump and skimmer for better control.

I'm driving mine with a 9.5 and when all air inlets are closed,water level is fine with my gate valve wide open.

How do you measure your water level ?
