On Sunday, I found 10 baby Banggai cardinals in my tank. Surprisingly, they are hovering in the front corner of tank in an unprotected area. The other fish show no interest in them. I am feeding them cyclop-eeze three times a day with a turkey baster, but the tank also has a huge copepod population of all sizes. The babies are about 10-12 millimeters in length and are eating well.

spawning banggai cardinals

I don't have any pics but the article written by Frank Marini accurately describes the spawning process. His article has several pictures.

If someone is committed to raising them, send me a pm.

Congrats Dad!!! We're very happy for you :)

We bit the bullet today and bought a 170g. We're having visions of fish in a few months.

update on the Banggai babies

The babies now realize the potential danger of schooling in the open and have now taken refuge in the live rock. If the babies come out again, I will catch them for members but right now, they look like a permanent fixture (unless I move a ton of rock).
