I bought a 30g cube from G-reef last week and I finally decided to get back on the hobby. Last reef I had was back when Ike hit and I'm finally trying it out again. I was told by him that there are newer technology that can make reef keeping easier. I just bought an OceanRevive Arctic t427 light with built in timer and I'm planning on building a 20g fuge on the bottom (19x15x10). I guess my question is, what would be the best setup that I can do for the refugium? How big should I do my mechanical filter or do I even need it? I want to maximize the fuge space so I can grow some copepods for a mandarin goby.
Planned stock:
Mandarin goby
2 maroon clown
1 anemone
some cardinal
Refugium:
cleaners
chaetomorpha
Crushed coral (substrate)
Skimmer:
Reef octopus HOB
What else am I missing to make it semi self sustaining?
