I've seen this a few times now...and I find it a bit disoncerting.

We have people ask for help, and while in general most are good about trying to find a good solution...there are a few that query to the effect or 'why bother' or 'waste it'.
I have to ask, if that's all you can come up with...why bother?

I've seen threads where much time, and potentially hundred of dollars could be lost/wasted if these few comments were followed.

So are you for or against PVC???? Or are you posting that up to show how people give advice on both sides?

Personally I feel that if someone gets on this site (where anyone can post any advise they want whether they have actual knowledge or not) and executes said advise without more research it would be their fault if something went wrong. That would be like going to a mall and asking some average shoppers walking around for financial advice, then in turn base their entire portfolio on said advise. Sure you may get an actual financial expert if your lucky, but it is more likely that you will get answers from someone who has no background in the field whatsoever.

Personally, I think that it's fine for someone to do what you suggested.

It's a forum. It's not like someone is paying a fee for advice. They are simply becoming a member to a group of people that share the same interest. It is up to them to make the final decision. Sure one person might make a unapproved suggestion, but with this hobby there are more then just a few ways to go about something the right way. Most of us are just hobbyist and suggest many things.

I did looke at the provided link but an example would be PVC size, the larger you go the more flow allowed, if it's for a fuge, who's to say that bigger is better and so forth.

Know what I mean?

Personally, I come here first then refernce 2+ other forums to validate said advice. Sometimes it's just comes down to trail and error. If it cost you more then so be it. That's how you learn.
