I'm wanting to drill my tank back glass to install the overflows.
I really want to use the "Bean Animal System" but I'm just starting to research how to do it.
Looking for detailed instructions to do this.
Tank is a 6' 135 gal. Do I have to go coast to coast?

Anyone have some glass bits I can borrow to drill this with?

I guess I'll figure out what size glass I need for this and the sump and do it all at once! Drill sump at same time too!

There are a few build threads on here with the Bean Animal setup. I'm planning to do the same, but my overflow box will be centered and about 1' less than my tank width so I can place a couple of powerheads on either side of the overflow.

Here are a couple of people that did it:

Plus I know Rocketsurgeon did it also.

Excellent idea! Hope you dont mind if I steal it!

Well I found out that my stand builder also will drill the required holes in my display, when he delivers the stand and canopy.
How's that for service?

Can I get a picture of the plumbing on the outside of tank on this Bean Animal Overflow. I got the inside overflow, which is essentially 3 elbows, but I need the outer tank part assembly

Add 3 T's and a valve.

OK 3 Tee's where does the valve go and it looks like they have some sort of cap on top of each Tee?

Looking at the picture on beananimals website, the only one that NEEDS a valve is the center one, below the T fitting. This is to adjust the siphon drain flow. The others don't need it, but you can put them on. But I would probably add a union to them to take the plumbing apart easier if needed.

The center one again needs the cap, as well as the right one with the air line. The left one is the emergency drain, and you want it to be noisy so it does not really need a cap. I think most people use them to give the plumbing a clean finished look.

In this picture I plugged off my emergency, as I was testing only. Still in the garage.

I moved my siphon line to the end, so that my valve would have easier access. When it was in the middle of the tank, it was hard to reach.

I have since exchanged my ball valve for a gate valve. Much better option.

I have yet to hook up my emergency. I'll get around to finishing one day...

Yep. Restrict mine (modified Bean Animal) even with an Ehime 1260 at full open. Just checkin'.

Siphon pulls a lot of water.

I run mine just barely cracked open and the water volume in the overflow is low as well. I'm using a mag7 and it doesn't come close on flow.

Thanks everyone!
As for the drain volume what size pumps on what size tanks are yall running
I'm going to use 1" plumbing on a 135 gal with a mag 18 return pump.
I'm hoping that the plumbing will be able to keep up!
I like a lot of turn over rate

Thanks
Donnie

After reading on the bean site he's claiming 2000gph so that should be more than adequate for my set up.
