Can someone tell me what this is and how I get rid of it? These tentacles are sprouting from my sand and growing on rocks. Is this a brown algae?

Hard to tell definitively with the pic, but I don't think its algae. The banding is similar to micro/mini brittle stars but look too long for them...My guess is its a spaghetti worm.

tektite, i had 2 feather dusters in the tank. One died. The other recently left its tube and the feathers + head got separated from the rest of the body. Do you think it's feather duster spawn? The feathers are banded.

No, those tentacles look smooth. A feather duster would have fine hairs along the strands.

Some fish will eat them. I've heard of some wrasses, even seen my yellow tang go after one once. Hermits will eat them. Not really a solid predator for them in particular. Other than their looks, they're harmless. Actually pretty good detrivores.
