I just used lugol's to kill red bugs that I contracted. It killed them all.

however, I can give you one good reason on why to treat and quarantine your acros. RED BUGS!

Those things are a pain in the butt. I had to take out all my acros out of my tank, put them in a quarantine tank for 5 days (according to E. Boreman, the red bug lifecycle is 4 days) and dipped every single one of my corlas in lugols right ebfore adding them back into the display tank. Needless to say, my vilada started to RTN in my quarantine tank and I had to frag it. Boy was I ticked off. Word of advice, always quaranting and dip your new acros in lugol's. I dont care if they came from the pope, still dip them. Red bugs are a pain.

Kent's Lugol's.
According to Boreman the dip should be between 1-2 minutes in a 5ml of lugols per Liter of water.
