It’s not unusual to find big sharks in deep coastal waters, but Albert Zertuche of Corpus Christi snagged a big one in an unusual spot: Bob Hall Pier, right off Padre Island.

How big? Zertuche caught a tiger shark that was at least 12.5 feet long.

If I'm not mistaken, just off the piers in Padre fisherman were catching 3ft juvenile spinners, bull sharks, and tigers quite readily (far more than previous years). Watch your butts while wading!

They regularly catch 8ft+ bull, tiger, lemon and sand sharks off the surf at San Luis Pass, Matagorda, and Bryan Beach. A 12.5ft shark is more uncommon, but I reckon a 6ft shark can kill you just as easily.
