Hey guys/gals!

I was just curious to see if anyone's running this brand of meter? I just purchased one to try it out (and the wand) and wanted to see if any you with PAR meter experience (not that you need much) out there have converted, or tried this one, yet? I'm more interested in the data logging it can do, than anything else, but I'd love to hear your experiences.

For those of you that don't know what a PAR meter is, it's simply a device used to find the sweet spot for your corals in your reef tank. I like to start off by placing corals around 200-300 PAR in my tanks, then go from there. Honestly, for me, it's a must have. Why spend so much time/money on something you never measure?

Thanks,
Flip

Can't tell you much about the Bio-tek but I can tell you a lot about the Apogee :thumb:
The Bio-tek works through a APP and software right?

Yes sir; and is a collaboration with Apogee. :)

I've owned an MQ-200 (I believe), but I sold it off awhile back. I don't see the purpose of the Apex one, nor the MQ-500 because I don't run LEDs. The 200 was always fine, but I was drawn to the BioTek due to the added feature of connecting to any computer.

I guess I'll play around with it and report back.

Very true, bro! The new one (MQ-500) will hit all spectrums for LEDs, as well.

I should have the BioTek tomorrow. Unfortunately, I won't get to work with it until this weekend though. I'll try to report what I find out about it.
