I have been told that blueleg hermits will sometimes eat snails and other hermit crabs. Is this true?

I am planning on increasing my cleaning crew and am trying to figure out what to add.

So far, I'm going with Turbo/Astrea snails and scarlet reef hermits.

Any other suggestions. Debating wether or not to get Nass. snails, not sure how much sand I'm gonna put in my tank after I swap all the rock and remove the current sand.

I haven't heard anything about eating snails but I did hear they have a tendancy to fight their own kind.

I've heard the big ones can go after snails. All the ones I've ordered have been the minis and I've never seen them going after them.

my blue legged i have seen as being agressive. They've killed a few of my nerite snails for the shells. The don't seem to touch the astrea though.

tvu do you place extra shells in there for them to choose between. I have read that they prefer an empty shell -- less work to take over :)

All of my hermits will go after an unsuspecting snail if they get the chance. So far, I haven't really noticed it just isolated to blue legs. Just my observation.

From observation of my own snails my red legged hermits seem to be less aggressive than the blue ones and seem to cover more ground.
