First off i want to say hello to everyone here at M.A.R.S.H.

I received my pair of neon gobies from Sealifeinc.net in early January, and the pair laid eggs Feb. 8th

TANK SPECS
17.4g Mr. Aqua
Koralia nano 425
150W MH w/ 14k pheonix bulb
mixed reef with zoas, rics, favia, and a yellow gorgonia.
S.G. 1.024
SC Skimmer (it works 35% of the time)
all nitrite, trate, amm, read zero.

Anyways I ordered the rotifer kit from reeds mariculture, set up 3 2.5g buckets to split the cultures. The eggs hatched in my larval tank Feb. 15th and are currently 5 days old. I started out with around 80+ fry the first day and the numbers have been slowly dwindling. As of right now i have around 30+ and they all look pretty healthy(responsive, full stomachs, etc.) I will post some pictures later.

Fig. 2 The male is guarding the eggs inside his PVC tube. You can see the eggs just to the right of him they are a tad bit darker than the PVC.

Fig 4. 5 days post hatch fry. You can see his gut which appears to be full and his caudal peduncle pigment.

I will be posting some more pictures as the fry progress!

Thanks guys, and I saw where he was going to be in Houston, but unfortunately I will be unable to attend. Any chance it will be webcast lol. But i have read a lot of his work and check out his site mofib.org pretty regularly. Incredible what all is being bred these days. Anyhow i will post some more pics in a couple of days when i begin adding artemia to the mix. Also, I want to ask if there is any place in the houston area to get captive bred Banggai cardinalfish? I have a pair but they don't seem to get along and i was wondering if there were any other places local that sell them.

I have read about breeding the neon gobies and I thought it would be very cool to try. I like the idea of raising our own players for our reef game, rather than dragging them out of the seas. Best of luck to you. I am following along and wishing yours the best of luck.
