Hi need help, bought a used tank. Has overflows and was installing the standpipe but keeps leaking at the bottom, it doesn't have water in it yet just pouring 2-3 cups and so far unsuccessful in trying to seal the bulkhead. Does the gasket with the ridge face the tank or does the smooth surface face the tank. Pls help. trying to set it up. thanks.

Lito,
Make sure the gasket and surface where the gasket sit is free of sand. Sometimes the old bulkhead is just bad.

Welcome to the club :D That happened to me when I set up my new tank last month. The tank was full and the bulk head is about 8" below the surface.. So i drained about 1/3 of my 220 gal tk on to the floor  not mentioning I also got electrical shock since the water run onto the elec. outlet below the stand  Luckily I jumped out of the wet area and shut the power off quickly, and the tank is in the garage so the flood doesn't matter much... Lesson learned: NEVER OVERTIGHTEN YOUR BULKHEAD :D
