I recently purchased a new to me Waterbox a while back and have decided to make a new build thread documenting it here as my old build has been taken down.

Old Build

Definitely gave myself more room between the wall this time.

Almost everything moved back in, just need to glue it

That looks great. I am in the middle of a diatom / Dino grow out and I think I’m gonna get close to first prize in the brown tank category.
Those suck, Hopefully, mine doesn't do anything crazy haha, I still need to hook my UV back up. Also need to hook up apex, dosers, Calrx, ATO, and figure out if I will get a roller mat.

I have one of these just sitting in my garage I could probably be talked into letting go of for a frag or two. Like, say a frag of that last sps on your first post and one of that neon green colony in the back right of your tank.

Little update

Got my Dosing set backup temporarily till I'm able to build a place to put the pumps
CalRX is set back up but selenoid crapped out new one should be here Saturday
UV is mounted and working again
Mounted new carbon reactor
Everything seems to be running fine but really missing the light spread of the old setup, might have to change it.
Went from 4 hydras and 4 T5 to only 2 Hydra, SPS on the bottom don't seem to like this new setup haha
Also, my doser keeps wiping the settings so need to get that fixed as it's my main source of Nitrates, and without it corals bleach out

Why the switch from 4 hydras and T5s to 2 hydras?

Because I don't have a mount for the other ones. Trying to see what I can do to get 4 hydras over the tank or 6, I have 4 just sitting around.
Eh they're terrible lights, proven to not grow corals, and worthless. I'll give you $100 for all six of them as my Christmas gift to you :)

Build a floating canopy and be done with it!

Also, did your last tank have sand? I can't remember. If it did, then why did you decide to go without sand for this build?

Yes, the last tank had sand, I like to run high flow and always dealt with it blowing around. I also get lazy and don't clean it as much as I should. I figured this time I will try the BB and see how it goes. I have had it in the past and liked it, but due to fish I always had to keep it. I moved the yellow coris wrasse to my frag tank which has sand now.

Looks great!

How did you set up your calcium reactor?
Your alk is not shooting up too high since your consumption is probably low?

Nope currently still fine-tuning from the old setup, I have it turned way down now than what I used to dose. I'm running it at 1.0ml/min and keeping a steady 8.3 ALK. I just replaced my regulator as my high-dollar dual stage seems to have crapped out after two years. The new one seems to be working just fine and using the Apex to control the solenoid.

The biggest struggle I'm having now is keeping the PH up. I had tied in the air from the garage and was keeping around 8.0-8.1 but this week it's dropping.

A little update, we moved at the end of February and the tank sat around at my old house for awhile on autopilot, Lost a few corals in the move but mostly everything made it. Still need to get equipment setup and organized. But take is settling back in.
