Sorry for the crappy pic, that's the best I could get...dang camera. Oh well, perhaps I can convince the rents we need a new one...

It's been up for a little over a month. The cycle was done 4 weeks or so ago. I had a lovely outbreak of diatoms, which have for the most part cleared up and now I have several little tufts of hair algae.

I have ~27lbs of rock and 20lbs of sand. Do yall think my rock work is a little to tall? It seem tall to me...

When I got the tank, it had five snails in it. I think they are nassarius but not completely sure. They don't seem to like the hair algae much, so I think it's time to stop by Maroon Lagoon.

I have 130watts of PC with 2 moonlights, one of which doesn't work. I'm hoping to have a reef tank with a couple fish.

For Corals, I'm just gonna stick with softies, zoas, and a few lps. It doesn't really bother me that I can't do sps, they never really appealed to me.

Fish wise, I'm not sure what I want. What do you guys suggest? I seem to change my mind every week. I want a tail-spot blenny, but after that I'm open to just about anything. A pair of clowns would be nice, but I also like: Black cap basslet, purple firefish, clown gobies, and shrimp/goby pair. I basically just want something interesting without pushing the bioload.

Thanks for looking

Whats up burt. I like your new fish. I was thinking about a blenny in my future.

With the rock I would just experiment with it a little and find what you like. I have a 20h and had my rock set up close to what you had in the begining. IMO you will find it easier to play with your rock before you get a bunch of livestock.

Later I then went for the mini mountain.

Progression to present date, in case you are curious.

That's a nice tank you have there Reefaholic. How do you like the royal gramma? I'd love one of those, but not for this tank. Perhaps some time in the future. That coralline is going crazy! 8) Nice hammer (it looks like?) you have there as well.

Well, here are some long over due udated pictures. I re-aquascaped and took out some to put into an algae farm tank. I'm finally getting some coral into the tank thanks to the frag swap in college station and a fellow reefer. I'm stocked as far as I'm concerned with a firefish, red sea mimic blenny and ocellaris clown. Corals so far as a florida ric, xenia, some tiny zoos and green monti cap and purple digi. SPS may brown out, but we'll see. The tank is pretty much algae free, but the blenny doesn't like that much as he refuses to eat any frozen food or seaweed. I've had to start a little hair algae farm in a critter keeper (thus is where some of my live rock went) and he has started to nip at the monti cap, hoping that is edible... . Hopefully that'll stop once he isn't so hungry.

Wow! Your tank has really progressed a lot! Love those rics.
Keep up the good stuff. Your new photos make your tank look way different.
