I used to catch them near the LA/MS border. Had 3 of them in a tank for a long time, at one point they spooked and jumped out. One was all but crunchy on the ground but I saw a gill slightly move, threw it back in the water and ended up being fine. Thought that was crazy. Edit: keep an eye out for other cool gobies an areas that these are found. Lyre gobies are really cool. You can also drag the bottom with a net and get small flounder (hog chokers) that tolerate salt and fresh pretty well.
