I traded some corals a few days ago. Was given to me as yellow montipora. I can't figure out what it is. It encrusts like montipora but has yellow and green polyps.

Monti alright but hard to see in the pic for what kind.
My bet is either a browned out rainbow or some of the same but a yellow cup coral maybe?

I never seen montipora with polyps that were yelow on the inside and green on the outside. 2 colors on just the pilyps.

I bought that coral as yellow montipora. It might be called something else. Their polyps are bigger compared to other montipora. I used to have a red monti and their polyps are red and green and their polyps color changed from time to time. It is very interesting to know its real name.

It definitely looks like montipora from the side but have never seen anything close to the color variation. Looked in alot of websites for it and haven't had anything turn up.

It probably will morph into something boring.
