Going off a post i say in another forum. This has me thinking alot. .... has
anoyone ever done this on their own LARGE tank? prefereably like a 180 or 210? i
would love to ditch my braces but also dont want to risk a flood.... let me know

I don't think either of those are good solutions. You have a comparatively large force being held back by very small hole(s) with a pin in plastic. I would be willing to bet those holes elongate over time and eventually the plastic will fail.

A better solution IMO would be what Mike13oy did. He had right angle stainless that sat on the trim (top and side) that was connected together with a stainless rod.
