Greetings all,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips, lessons learned or gotchas for caring for these exquisite fish. I just bought one and currently have it in my refugium until it gets acclimated. I use a variation of Eric's fish food recipe so all kinds of goodies are included in the diet. Not to mention the fact that my 180 is overrun with aiptasia! So if it won't eat what I feed it then it should stay fat with those.

Any help would be appreciated.

Michael

P.s. I also have the following fish in my tank:

Cheveron Tang
Scopas Tang
Blue Hippo Tang
Coral Beauty
Two False perculas.

I've heard that if you have problems getting it to eat, drop in a couple fresh water clams opened up for it to pick at.

Hey Michael, my copperband has been with me for almost 4 years now. This fish is a pig for mysis shrimp the PE brand. Once you get them to eating it's downhill from there. Mine is not an aiptasia eater, but I still love it cause they are such a beautiful fish.

When I'm working in the 180g it will swim right up to my hand to let me pet it. Now thats a fish for ya.....

wow! That's great news. I put a whole pack of mysis in my food mix. Granted it's all chopped up but i'm sure it can smell it. I'm hoping it will munch on those pests though...

BTW I'm surprised no one noticed the way I spelled butterfly. I can't believe I did that! Seriously, it was an accident.

I might also add. That becuase of the nature of this fish.. You should always make sure he eats (actually have the LFS feed him in front of you) at the LFS before you ever consider getting a specific one.. If they wont do that. Its time to find a new LFS IMO..

Thanks but a little late for that. I bought it online. I usually buy locally but as of late Global seems to be lacking in the SW fish/coral department. Wonder why...
