Not at all. After installing fans above and below my tank, I never see 80 degrees. I have a 225 display and a 75 sump, too. I evap a lot of water, but it's worth it, to me. If you wall mount your tank, with the back end in your garage, or something, that's an entirely different story.

Don't get me wrong, a chiller is a great idea; it's just not the only way to cool your tank.

If your tank is 2-3 degrees above what you want, consider a fan. Otherwise, I would go with a chiller. A lot has to do with what you keep the house AC at.

there are some nice fans on Ebay.
That is where I got mine, 4 side by side computer style fans mounted side by side. Mounting brackets were included.
Think I paid like $50.. (that includes the shipping.

well,it's not that simple.
As theH pointed out,the driving factor is your house temperature during the day.I would not rule it out.
Believe me I wish I did not need a chiller but for me,it's cheaper to let the house run warmer(and run a chiller) during the day than keeping it at 77 at all times for the sake of keeping the tank water at 80.
just my 2 cents :)

and welcome!
