i really want one and i have been doing research. my question is about the coloration, does anyone know what effects coloration, or does the color as a juvie a precursor to what the adult will be like?? because i want mine to be beautiful.

I had one for 2 years. It started around 3 inches and got to 6 inches but it kept the same bright colors the entire time.

They need a lot of swimming room and lots of hiding places.

I've never seen one that wasn't beautiful. :) I have one and love his personality. They like live sand, but I've had mine in my barebottom for awhile now. They are also jumpers. I just had to pull my little guy out of the overflow this past week. Here's mine:

Mine likes most foods I throw at it, even nori. :)

That's a pretty food size one. TBH, my wrasse's color has faded quite a bit since I took that pic. I'm putting him in my 58g here soon so he can have a sand bed to play in. :)

Can the Christmas Wrasse's get along with a Cleaner Wrasse & a Lubbuck Wrasse ???

Bought a pair from T&T a while back. They got big fast and the male started chasing the female and other fish. I ended up giving it to a marsh member for free. They get big and kind of aggressive.

In my opinion, go with a different wrasse. How big is your tank?

juveniles will look considerably different, but other than diet I don't know what will affect coloration. I like most of the halicheores genus wrasses, but if you don't have a tank over about 90 gallons it's probably not the best choice to mix with others.

My tank at this time is not big enough to house a Christmas Wrasse I had plan on getting a 180 gal tank but finances might be a hinder in my original plans and if they are that aggressive then I will not get them I already have one aggressor and I don't want anymore.
