can someone tell me the best places and the cheapest i can get a clean up crew together?

the cheapest ive seen yet are keyscritters and reeftopia.

but on reeftopia are Golden Astrea Snails just small versions of the common Astrea Snail (which they label is Turbo Snail)?

anyone want to order hermits and snails with me?

I ordered about 50 of the Astrea snails. In a 3 month period every one of them had fallen, upside down and died. I was very disappointed. I also need a cleanup crew, but I am hesitant as to which type to get. I have about 10 snails that came with the original purchase of my aquarium that are still going strong, but I really need a few more.

I've always been very pleased with etropicals.com. Order just $60 worth of a build-your-own cleanup crew and you get free shipping.

Sherri,
Do you have any trouble with the crabs attacking the snails? I had some of the red legged crabs, I believe they were Baha crabs. They didn't touch a piece of algae, they attacked the snails. Fortunately I removed them before they could get to many of them. I believe I am going to go with the scarlet reef type next time. Also what type of snails did you bye?

I bought the scarlet hermit crabs, "dwarf" blueleg crabs, and astrea snails in my last cleanup crew. The dwarf bluelegs didn't stay dwarf-sized very long and quite a few of my astreas have fallen victim to shell-maurauding crabs. The scarlet hermits are completely peaceful, stay the same size, eat stuff on the sandbed and rocks all day long, and don't bother anyone. In the future I will likely not introduce any more bluelegged hermits at all.

Thanks Sherri,
BTW I just found this site, however I noticed they don't have the scarlet reef hermits. And beware the Nerites I read Dr. Rons new article on snails, these guys like to wander out of your tank, they are tidal and like to be out of the water at times.

yea i lost pretty much all my nerites when i had a 55 gallon reef.

they would just climb up and down the outside of my tank and just dry up and die.

I was very happy with my order from reeftopia. I Ordered nerites, ceriths, astreas, scarlet and blue legged hermits, emerald crabs, and star snails. All the livestock was very healthy on arrival and I had very little die off except for the star snails which I wont try again. Reeptopia was even nice enough to credit me for the loss. The nerites do tend to wander up the glass but ive only had one casualty and it was not due to it leaving the tank.

I will never purchase another blue legged hermit. All they do is group up and fight to the death. I've lifted up live rock to find them in groups of 5 battling it out.

Are you familiar with a queen and fighting conch? I added those to my crew and they awesome. Between the two, the queen is my favorite. It does a great job of cleaning the glass and sandbed. The fighting conch has buried itself and I havent seen it in a week. I hear they do this from time to time.
