What is the average life span of a clown fish in fish tanks? I"ve had a pair of clowns since the beginning over three and half years ago and today at lunch my female is lying in the frag box looking very distressed and barely breathing

I won't hold my breath, she was looking pretty bad when I left for lunch. It is a pair of false percs, my poor male. Anyone have that link where is shows what clowns will host in what anenomes?

Well phoeey, I was hoping some maroons would like my LTA's, I don't want to give them up, one I've had for almost three years and the power head kissing one I've had for almost a year. That charts says that I could go with pink or saddle back clowns or domino damsels. That's just what I need, a hoard of dominos.

Maroons will host in an LTA. My maroon took to mine within a couple of hours. Joyce Wilkerson's book lists LTA's as a species that maroons don't host with in the wild, but they will in captivity. From what I've read, it's probably even more likely than ocellaris/perculas in a BTA.

Well like I figured, the female had bit the dust by the time I got home and she went toliet bowl surfing :( Guess I'll start looking around for another pair of clowns. Tom - will you be going to the May meeting? I plan on going and could pawn off my lonely male to you

I'll be there and gladly take him for whatever compensation you want.
I'll also get him another mate quickly you would be surprised but clowns get depressed when they lose a loved one.

I wouldn't doubt he is depressed, he was hovering by her body when I came home and was trying to nudge it around  Well I guess he doesn't have to share the LTA's anymore
