I'm in the process of buying a calcium reactor for the first time. It will be installed on a system that is SPS dominant and a total capacity of around 400 gallons. I'm trying to size the CO2 bottle that I'll need. What will be the ballpark CO2 consumption that I can expect?

20lbs. Consumption will depend on too many things. Brand of reactor, running it 24/7, heavily stocked, desired levels..list goes on. I've heard of tanks going through 20lbs within 6 months. I average about a year and some change.

ya, i'd probably go with a 20.
I'm running my 350g total capacity system with a 10lb bottle. Been running since february, haven't refilled it yet.
Before switching over I was dosing 300ml of alk every day.

Thanks guys, that's what I wanted. I didn't want to go with a 20 if a 10 would nominally be expected to last 9 months to a year.

Go with a 20. It's only $15 bucks to refill. Your saving yourself the hassle of refilling 2x as fast. You won't save in the big picture with a 10. I know.
