The trigger has been there for over a year, in the same tank. It was taken in a trade and the owner hasn't sold it yet. Being that it is so big very few people can house that type of fish. It also cost over 100 bucks if i remember correctly.

And for those who say don't shop there, its kinda hard to do that when you only have one place in town to go, unless you would rather us go to petco.

I'm not sure how many of you went to the last frag swap and heard Jen saying that the frags were going to be broodstock for using to create captive grown frags. Well about a week later, I went to see what happened to the frags, now they are in the display tank up front and not in the tanks where "brood stock" was going to go.

Leslea, I was there, and I heard as much. I think that was for their own benefit, as there had been some ruffling of feathers as to their presence at the frag swap beforehand. As far as the frags go, I have no problem with what anyone wants to do with the frags I sold them. I'm not out to make a bunch of money selling frags, and those that bought mine know that. If they took the frags that I sold them and put them up for sale at double, triple, or more what they paid, so be it. I sell my frags for what I think is fair to me. All I want is to balance my cost out so I can enjoy this hobby without taking food off the table or shoes off the kid's feet. I know that other people have other motives with selling their frags, and that's fine by me. To each their own.

I was more mad about how they presented themselves as hobbist right off the bat and wanted to buy stuff and no presenting themselves as a store wanting to aquire captive breed stock.

Someone needs to put leslea under a cold shower. She is steaming. :p
I'm more concerned about the trigger personally. Its just cruel to do that to that animal. I can just imagine living in a half a cube for a year. Man that would be torture. Perhaps they should either find the room or sell it for a cheaper price so that someone who has the room and wants it will take it. I bet yah Leroy would problably take it hehe.

I realize that your LFS has a captive audience, and it sucks when you have no other choice.

I grew up in a really small town, we had one grocery store. You bought their overpriced milk and their stale bread or you went without. When you get tired of that, you do something about it. We started a co-op. People would trade off driving 170 miles round trip into San Antnio to buy perishables, then splitting them up amongst the group. It worked. The grocer lowered prices, got better stock, when he realized that he couldn't make a go of it without our business.

I'm not saying that you should do the same thing, but there are alternatives. If you really have a problem with the LFS, do something about it. There aren't that many reefers in CS, and if they lose the business of just the people that you know, they'll feel it.

what happened to pet paradise next to ninfas?
Did it go out of business? As far as I remember they used to sell salt water fish.

If not mistake, the owners of that fishstore used to be the owner's of Somethin'Fishy. Then again that was some time back.

Doesn't sound to me like people are too upset. Isn't there a universtiy in that town? What's it called? A N M or something?

Anyway, don't students protest anything anymore? Get some students together, make some signs, and picket their store. Get some catchy slogans, start a chant...SAVE THE QUEEN!! SAVE THE QUEEN!!

Something like that, geez. Kids nowadays need some direction. :-x

LoL, I dont there is a need to go to extremes here. :p
I just hope the owners read all these threads and correct the problem. Im sure they can make the space. Unless that trigger has bitten some fingers off and its being punished. hehe

rob started out with osmehtings fishy... then opened pet stop. Then he bought out pet paradise. IT became pet stop II, which went under because half the store was at the other location. Now Animal WOrld and Post oak pets were bought out and then closed. The only pet store we have is pet stop or pet co. And since i dont like their rare white speckled clown fishes at pet co, i go to pet stop.
