i was thinking one for each corner of a 5 gallon tank (total of 4 if they fit) and a polished aluminum reflector per bulb. thats if i cant find a ballast to run a 96 watt pc.
any know a store that sales ballast locally?

I had one of these on the refugium of a 20 gal that the refugium was built in to the back. The bulbs work in a standard light bulb outlet, and no, they aren't that bright in my opinion, but that bulbs was old.

I think i might use it over my red sea aqua vase. its only a .75 gallon tank.

I have a 110w PC 24" light system that I'll sell for $50 including 12K bulbs or a 12K and an Actinic for $50 ........Bulbs are new. it sure as hell beats those dinky lights and it is plug and play. LMK

No thanks. i have 2 compact systems i could use. Plus the tank im about to starts is only a 5.5 gallon tank.
